WORTON — This year’s headlining event for the second annual Kent Goes Purple campaign to raise awareness of opioid addiction will be a community party in the park.

Kent Goes Purple will hold a Purple Jamboree from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept.14 in Worton Park.

The Purple Jamboree will be a family fun event to raise awareness and promote prevention.

It will include free admission, free hot dogs, great food vendors, activities for all ages, face painting, contests and prizes, a rock wall and slide and Blast Zone Bounce House inflatables.

Live music will include Karen Somerville with Gerry Werner.

Also available at Kent Goes Purple’s Purple Jamboree will be recovery and prevention resources and education.

The Kent Goes Purple shirts featuring Washington College’s flying goose logo will be available for purchase.
