CHESTERTOWN — The Kent County Republican Central Committee celebrated its annual Lincoln Day Dinner with a guest speaker, Kelly Schulz, Maryland’s secretary of commerce.
Rainy weather didn’t stop more than 50 people from attending the meet and greet at Chester River Yacht and Country Club with state and county officials over food and drinks July 11, a news release from the central committee states.
Schulz spoke about her past efforts and future plans for commerce in Maryland. She spoke with experience as a former Maryland state delegate, Maryland Republican Party third vice chairman and secretary of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
Schulz spoke about how she follows former President Ronald Reagan’s ideas of compassionate conservatism by reducing regulations that stifle innovation and business growth, the release states. Her vision is to make government work for the people, provide good customer service as people would expect with any private company and attract more business in Maryland, according to the release.
