GALENA — U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md.-1st, announced three upcoming local town halls, Nov. 6 in Carroll County and Nov. 7 in Kent County and Cecil County.
The Town Halls are free, open to the public and include an extensive question-and-answer session with Harris, according to a news release.
Topics of discussion will cover a wide variety of issues of interest to constituents, including gun control proposals and Second Amendment rights, health care and impeachment proceedings.
Of the House vote to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump on Thursday, Oct. 31, Harris issued a statement voicing opposition to HR 660. The resolution passed.
“I am certainly not voting to justify the continuation of Soviet-style secret hearings orchestrated behind closed doors to impeach the President. This is a sham — a fig leaf that fails to cover up an illegitimate hyper-partisan inquiry,” he said in news release.
His first town hall this week will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gamber and Community Fire Company Social Hall, 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, about a two-hour drive from Chestertown.
From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, Harris will be in Kent County at the Galena firehouse, 90 E. Cross St., Galena.
Harris will depart Galena and head to the North East VFW Post 6027 for a second town hall from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The VFW is located at 815 Turkey Point Road, North East, which is about an hour from Chestertown.
