SUDLERSVILLE — Godfrey’s Farm will host its first Blueberry Boogie 5K run/walk to benefit the Maryland Food Bank on Saturday, June 19.
According to a news release the event will be held at the Godfrey Farm Market, 302 Leager Road, Sudlersville.
“We’ve always wanted the opportunity to host a race here on the farm,” said Lisa Godfrey, owner of Godfrey’s Farm, “Knowing that the race proceeds will benefit the Food Bank just makes it a perfect fit.”
Starting at the market, the race will take participants on a scenic road loop ending back at the market for a reception of farm favorite refreshments.
Most importantly, the race will raise money to support the work that the Maryland Food Bank does to provide healthy food to the thousands of food insecure citizens of our state, the release states.
The Maryland Food Bank is celebrating its 11th year of the Maryland Farm-to-Food-Bank program. Godfrey’s Farm has participated in this program for the last nine years, donating many tons of fruits and vegetables to communities in need throughout the state.
