Chester River bridge work

The State High Way Administration has announced nighttime work on the Chester River bridge, shown here, expected to start Sunday and last about five days.

CHESTERTOWN — Beginning Sunday night, Sept. 15, the State Highway Administration will perform routine maintenance, testing and minor repairs to the state Route 213 drawbridge over the Chester River.

According to a news release, work hours will be overnight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Motorists may see occasional test openings of the bridge lasting no more than 15 minutes each.

With good weather SHA officials expect this work can be completed in about five nights.
