CHESTERTOWN — The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County is shuttered as of Saturday afternoon, March 14.
“All animals in our care will be safe and sound, cared for by dedicated staff, who will be providing food, care, cleaning, and medical treatment for our sheltered animals,” the organization said in a news release.
If you are a resident of Kent County and have to give up an animal, ASKC will help. Call 410-778-3648 to set up a meeting time. The building is locked. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
Adoptions will continue only through online applications. You can complete an application on the website, www.kenthumane.org, and you can call the adoptions staff at 410-778-3648 for assistance.
Volunteers are being asked to stay home through March 30.
Donations of dog food (4health) and cat food (Purina Cat Chow) can be left inside or in front of the garage.
