CAMBRIDGE — The powerboat racing season begins Saturday and Sunday when the Thunder on the Choptank race in Hambrooks Bay in Cambridge.
The event on July 24-25 is organized by the Kent Narrows Racing Association.
Racing begins at 10:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The best viewing area is the banks of Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh, and food and drinks will be available for sale there.
Classes racing include 1 Litre, 1.5 Litre Stock, 2.5 Litre Modified, 2.5 Litre Stock, 5 Litre, Grand National Hydroplane, Grand Prix Hydroplane, Jersey Speed Skiff, National Modified Hydroplane, Sportsman Entry, Sportsman Advance and J Stock Hydro.
