CAMBRIDGE — A crime control technology in Cambridge recently helped police respond to and investigate a shooting.
Cambridge Police said the city’s Shot Spotter system sent an alert that five shots were fired about 11:32 p.m. on Jan. 12 in the 700 block of Rosemont Avenue.
CPD officers on patrol also heard the shots. Officers determined a residence on Rosemont Avenue had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire causing damage to the siding and a front window.
Five people were in the house at the time of the shooting, but none were injured.
Officers were able to recover one projectile from inside of the residence and one from the siding and were also able to locate several spent shell casings in the area.
Currently the suspect is unknown, but the investigation is ongoing.
Cambridge Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to contact the CPD if they may have any information on who was involved.
