CAMBRIDGE — On Friday, June 7, 116 golfers hit the links at the Hyatt River Marsh Golf Club in Cambridge to support Habitat for Humanity Choptank’s 13th annual golf outing.

In attendance were community leaders, business sponsors, avid golfers, Habitat Choptank board and committee members, and even a baseball Hall of Fame inductee — all golfing for the cause of building homes, communities and hope.

“We cannot thank our generous golfers and sponsors enough for their consistent support of our golf outing,” said JoAnn Hansen, Habitat Choptank’s executive director. “They come back year after year to golf, sponsor and donate. The success of the golf outing allows us to continue to address the affordable housing crisis in our community and help our local homebuyers build a better future for their families.”

Funds from this event support Habitat Choptank’s mission to transform communities and lives through the power of homeownership. Over its 27-year history, Habitat Choptank has made home ownership possible for 80 families. These families partner with Habitat Choptank to complete “sweat equity” hours, attend pre-homeownership classes, meet debt reduction and savings goals, and, ultimately, purchase their own home.

Habitat Choptank thanks the Golf Outing Co-Chairs, Fred Haller and Brett Whitehead, as well as this year’s top sponsors, including our Lead Sponsor, PNC Bank; Silver Hammer Sponsor, Koons of Easton; Bronze Hammer Sponsors, 84 Lumber, 1880 Bank, Cantner’s Drug Store, and Wells Fargo Advisors; and Iron Hammer Sponsors, Accounting Strategies Group, LLC, Cambridge Family Eye Care, Delco Packaging Products, Inc., Economy Tree Service, Inc., Town and Country Liquors, Walmart and Willow Construction.
