CAMBRIDGE — An East New Market man has been charged with breaking in to a gas station on Friday, May 21, and taking cigarettes.

Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dockins Service Station in East New Market on May 21 for a reported breaking and entering that had occurred overnight, where they found a window had been broken and cigarettes had been taken.

Dorchester County Sheriff Jimmy Phillips said an investigation identified 22-year-old John Edward James III of Linkwood Road as the suspect.

James was arrested on Tuesday, May 25, and charged with second-degree burglary, three counts of fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property under $500 and theft under $100. He was ordered held on $15,000 bond.
