CAMBRIDGE — Dorchester’s County Manager Keith Adkins announced his resignation in a letter to the County Council Friday morning, Nov. 20.

In an email obtained by the Star, Adkins said he provided the council his 30-day notice. Adkins said that according to county rules and regulations he intended to work through Dec. 21. Adkins declined to comment.

Dorchester County Council President Jay Newcomb also declined to comment on the issue because it is a personnel issue.

Newcomb said the council could vote to discuss the resignation and possible steps to fill the vacancy at their next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
