CENTREVILLE — Ellen Simmons of Chestertown and Jane Hauprich of Centreville have been named semifinalists for the 2015 American Quilters Society’s QuiltWeek contest, which will take place March 11 to 14 at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pa.

Simmons and Hauprich have been chosen to display their quilt, “Beauty,” along with 200 others in the AQS contest. “Beauty” was pieced by Simmons and custom long-arm quilted by Hauprich.

Prizes will be given for first-, second- and third-place winners in seven categories. Six overall awards will be given, including Best of Show. More than $50,000 will be granted, including $10,000 for the Best of Show. All semifinalists’ quilts will be displayed at the show.
