Marilyn and Samuel are loving grandparents, but they are raising four young grandchildren due to the unexpected absence of the children’s mother. James is 9, Chris is 8, Kayla is 5, and Justin is 15 months.

The couple was living on a fixed income, but now they receive limited benefits for the children as well. They had to move into a larger home in order to keep all of the children together. They are trying to catch up on some of the bills that they have fallen behind on because of the added costs of the children, but money is tight.

Marilyn tries to keep the kids as busy as possible so they don’t miss their mom as much. The boys love cars, trucks, racetracks and anything having to do with sports. Kayla is a princess at heart. She loves dolls, strollers, and dressup clothes.

What the family really needs are winter clothes for the children and some extra help with the groceries.
