CENTREVILLE Queen Anne's County has reduced the operational hours of the five county transfer stations. All five sites had been open five days a week. The new schedule, effective today, March 30, reduces three sites to three days a week in operation and two sites to two days a week.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday at Centreville; Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday at Grasonville; Wednesday, Friday, Saturday at Batts Neck; Thursday and Saturday at Church Hill; Friday and Saturday at Millington.

According to Public Works Director Todd Mohn, the new schedule is expected save more than $160,000 in annual expenses.
