Santa Claus will be making two appearances Saturday as he will headline Christmas parades in Greensboro and Ridgely.
Greensboro's parade begins at 5 p.m. on Sunset Avenue and ends at the carnival grounds where Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet town residents. The parade is a part of the town's Lighting of the City celebration.
In Ridgely, the town and the Ridgely Lions Club are co-sponsoring the 14th annual Ridgely Old Fashioned Christmas. This year's event will again include a parade, caroling, refreshments and Santa after his visit to Greensboro.
The parade will assemble at Martin Sutton Park with participants arriving at 6:15 p.m. and the parade beginning at 6:45 p.m. Santa will conclude the parade at the Ridgely House where refreshments will be served, Santa will greet children of all ages and Ridgely Elementary School Chorus will sing Christmas carols.
This year, the Ridgely Lions are including a food drive to support local food pantries as part of the festivities. The Lions Club encourages parade participants and spectators to bring non-perishable food donations with them to the parade. Lions will be collecting your donations along the parade route or you can bring your donation to a collection site at the Ridgely Town Office at the end of the parade.
